Chicago Bulls Guard Derrick Rose to undergo surgery, again. The Bulls may have to once again open their season without the services of Derrick Rose. According to the Chicago Bulls 2016 NBA Betting Odds at Bodog Basketball, the Bulls have been listed at +2000 to win the NBA title in 2016.
Yes Derrick will be under the knife again. This time for an orbital fracture that he suffered in practice a few days ago. This after he played the most games since the 2010-2011 season last year after partaking in 51 games during the regular season and another 12 in the postseason. The 51 regular season games were 2 more games than he played in the last 3 seasons combined (49)
Injuries have really plagued Derrick the last few years. In the 2011-2012 season, Derrick played in just 39 games and then missed all of the 2012-13 season. Back in 2014 he was available for just 10 games and last year he missed some time, but still played in 51 games. This all after he missed a total of 5 games in his first 3 Seasons in the NBA.
Last year Derrick had a very solid season, putting up 17.7 ppg during the regular season, while also scoring 20.3 ppg in the playoffs. Derrick’s best season as a pro was back in the 2010-2011 season, in which he averaged 25 ppg during the regular season, while also scoring 27.1 ppg in 16 playoff games.
Right now the timetable for his return is unclear. Reports are that he could resume basketball activities in 2 weeks and hopes are that he will still be ready to go on opening night. One thing is for sure. The Bulls are a much better team with him on the floor.
